I Once Was Lost

This was a study for part of a large mural. You can find

I hesitate to paint a likeness of Jesus. I have done it a few
times before. It is an awesome thing to me, even to
imagine what he may look like. Since my customer wanted
him incorporated into their mural, I decided to first design
it on canvas.
This project went forth with much prayer and humility. I
had been seeing visions of his face in the weeks before
this opportunity presented itself. Perhaps that gave me
the fortitude I needed to paint his image again. Of all my
attempts, this is my favorite.
